“The Embassy of Mexico in Spain and the Consulate in Barcelona facilitated the coordination of the flight and provided consular support. In addition, they offered sanitary material, answered queries and provided preventive information to passengers, “the foreign minister said in a statement.

He stressed that since the declaration of the State of Health Alarm in Spain, on March 14, they have supported and oriented the Mexican people who require it, as well as provided assistance to those who have needed it in their transit from other European countries, Middle East and Africa.

“The representations of Mexico abroad will continue to provide consular assistance and protection in the framework of the current health contingency,” he stressed.

In addition, he reiterated that Mexican people should avoid all international travel that is not strictly essential.

“Those who intend to return to national territory in the short term should consider all the commercial options that are available at this time.” He said.
