Tegucigalpa, Honduras.- A 6.3 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter off the coast of Coxen Hole, Honduras, was registered in the Mexican city of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, with no victims or material damage, reported so far.
The strong shock could also be perceived in cities such as Belmopan, Belize; Cancun, Quintana Roo and Villahermosa, Tabasco in Mexico, according to data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The Tsunami Warning System operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has so far not issued tsunami alerts in the Caribbean or the Atlantic, Infobae said.
Meanwhile, the Quintana Roo Civil Protection system reported that there is no report of damage or injuries from the seismic vibrations. They also revealed that it could also be perceived in municipalities such as Bacalar, Othón P. Blanco, and José María Morelos.
For its part, the National Seismological Department of UNAM reported another movement of magnitude 4.0 southeast of Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, at 4:00 local time, with no victims or material damage reported.
