Ixtapa Zihuatanejo presented its new campaign for 2021: The Year of the Whales, where these mammals are the symbol that represents the locals and inspires everyone, both locals and visitors, through extraordinary graphic, audiovisual and artistic pieces.
The municipal government through the Tourism Department and in coordination with the Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV), presided over by Jesús Gallegos Galvan and Pedro Castelán Reina, respectively, presented this promotional campaign about the visit and spectacular sightings of this great species.
In order to maintain the position of the leading beach destination in Mexico and one of the favorites abroad, a promotional campaign will be carried out that will cover strategic places such as the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo International Airport, spectacular in key states of the country, as well as diffusion in digital and conventional media.
In his participation, the municipal president Jorge Sánchez Allec, expressed that the arrival of these important mammals to Ixtapa Zihuatanejo offers an important attraction that is managed in a responsible way and as a strategy to promote tourism development.
Under a concept that highlights the natural beauty of the destination, the campaign focuses on the greatness of the humpback whales and their passage through the coasts of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, an Official Whale Watching Zone for just over a year and today becomes its icon
The Year of the Whales connects travelers and the local community with visually appealing images that reinforce the creation of a symbol of pride that represents the strength and unity of all the inhabitants of the destination.
The campaign is made up of different visual materials with key information to get to know these large mammals, presented in a simple and organic way, allowing visitors to learn more about these specimens and generate interest in adding this activity to their travel agenda.
One of the main objectives of this campaign is to publicize the marine wealth of the Mexican Pacific coasts and responsible sighting with certified guides of these extraordinary animals through different pieces that illustrate the experience.
