Israeli tourist disappears in San Cristóbal de las Casas, What Happen?

The Israeli tourist, Raziel Yizhak Wald, 23 years old, left the Casa Yagil hostel on Friday at 06:15 a.m. and since then his whereabouts have been unknown.

San Cristobal de las Casas, Chis. – A 23-year-old tourist of Israeli nationality disappeared last Friday when he left a hostel located in the La Merced neighborhood, near the historic center of San Cristóbal de las Casas, reported the Chiapas Prosecutor’s Office. 

In the search file issued by the Prosecutor’s Office, it was revealed that  Raziel Yizhak Wald, 23 years old, left the Casa Yagil hostel on Friday at 06:15. 


Since then, the whereabouts of the tourist who came to Chiapas to visit the tourist places have been unknown. 

The average affiliation of the tourist says that Raziel is robust, with light brown skin, 1.74 meters tall, dark brown eyes and short black hair. 


As particular signs, Raziel has a tattoo in the form of a red triangle, on the forearm of the left arm, the figure of a wolf with three eyes on the right arm, another on the back and one more on the left leg. 

Violence seizes San Cristóbal de las Casas

San Cristóbal de las Casas, became a dangerous city for locals and tourists, due to the presence of gang members from the Tzotzil entity that are dedicated to the theft of motorcycles, cars, account holders, passers-by and sale of marijuana and other substances. 

The gang groups began as shock groups formed by the mayor of the PVEM, Marco Antonio Cancino, to hit opposition organizations. 


The day before, a 16-year-old youth from the Tzotzil entity was shot to death. 

On February 19, Paula Ruiz de los Santos, 41, was murdered when she tried to prevent her motorcycle from being stolen by two gang members of the Tzotzil ethnic group.

Missing Israeli tourist found alive in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas

The Altos District Prosecutor’s Office located and handed over to his relatives the Israeli tourist Raziel Yizahk Wald , 23, reported missing on Friday in San Cristóbal de las Casas .

The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported that Raziel was found safe and sound in the municipality of Cárdenas, Tabasco , and was handed over to his relatives early Monday morning.

The search and location of the foreigner was coordinated with the investigations, intelligence work and the participation of agents of the Specialized Police, attached to the Altos District Prosecutor’s Office.

The ministerial authority added that on Friday Raziel left the hotel where he was staying with his uncle, located in the neighborhood of La Merced in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, and was located in Tabasco on Sunday night.

The ministerial police will continue with the investigations to establish or rule out the commission of a crime against the Israeli tourist, the state agency said.
