“Corazón de Barro” is the title of the first edition of the Festival with Pottery Tradition, which will take place on December 8 and 9, at 6:00 p.m., in the La Enseñanza Casa de la Ciudad building, in San Cristóbal de las Casas.

This festival includes workshops, presentations, music, popular gastronomy, as well as sculpture and pottery samples.

It is an independent project that was conceived in 2017 with the purpose of promoting, disseminating, researching and documenting traditional pottery techniques, their uses and customs in the daily, contemporary and academic sphere, with the firm purpose of strengthening our identity and Mexican cultural heritage.

In this way, the “Corazón de Barro” proposal was created, a festival that opens the opportunity to bring together different pottery producers from the region as an act to promote the purchase and sale of ceramic pieces, the exchange of knowledge and artistic expression in different disciplines that integrate the use of clays in their creative manifestation.
