Tons of mud are removed from the area by Civil Protection personnel as it affected traffic and residents
San Cristóbal – This Monday afternoon it did not rain in San Cristóbal de las Casas, but one of the streets in the south-east part of the city was flooded with mud and branches, and the water came from the eastern part of the city, which dragged branches, mud and damaged one of the colonies in the area of the city, volunteers and civil protection personnel carried out the cleanup, because many people were stranded in the place.
On Monday afternoon at the main entrance of the El Campanario colony, located in the south-east of the city, the drains were filled with mud and some branches that affected this street and many of the pedestrians walked on mud, but minutes later the same residents and Civil Protection personnel arrived to remove the tons of mud, garbage and tree branches.
And it is that in the communities of the eastern area of the municipality of San Cristóbal it rained this Monday afternoon, one of them is the community of Aguaje and all the water dragged quantities of mud, garbage, as well as branches that affected this main entrance of the colony El Campanario, so personnel from Civil Protection, public works and neighbors, armed with shovels and picks did the work to remove the tons of mud that had damaged the street.

Because vehicular traffic affected the passage, because it is the only main entrance of the colony, until 5 in the afternoon of this Monday they continue working to remove the tons of mud, as well as they will be in charge of washing the floor so that people can move freely.
As of this Monday afternoon, there is no rain in the city of San Cristóbal de las Casas, but Civil Protection personnel ask to take all precautions because this afternoon or evening there could be large amounts of rain in the Jovel Valley, while residents continue to wait for this street to be completely cleared and motorists are driving with all precautions to avoid an accident.
