In the framework of the national holidays, the “Trail Inframundo” marathon will be held next Sunday, September 15, which will have male, female and junior categories, with distances of 21, 10 and 3 kilometers respectively. The event will be held in the Montetik Ecotourism Park, located east of San Cristóbal de las Casas. Citizens and nearby towns are invited to register and participate in this activity.
Sergio Gómez Hernández, known as “Xiu Oceltotl”, said in an interview that this will be the first edition of the “Trail Inframundo” race. Participants will be able to compete in distances of 21, 10 and 3 kilometers, with appropriate clothing to test their endurance. Registration is open.
“In this patriotic month, we invite everyone to join this race that will take place on September 15 at 7 in the morning, with distances of 21 and 10 km for the free, master and veteran categories, both male and female. Children will be able to participate in a 3 km race, with a maximum age of 12 years,” said Gómez Hernández.
Finally, he recommended that participants wear mountain shoes or mountain tennis shoes due to the recent rains, to avoid accidents. He also asked that trash not be left in the park and announced that Civil Protection personnel are about to confirm their attendance. At the end of the marathon, runners will be able to enjoy a massage area with masseurs available on site.
