Chiapas: Pakal Force commander dismissed for corruption

José Carlos Lemus Vidal, commander of the Pakal Immediate Reaction Group of the Chiapas Public Security Secretariat, assigned to the La Concordia area, was removed from his position after Officer Francisco Ramírez Galindo accused him of abuse and corruption.

According to the complaint, he received bribes, provided protection to criminals, stole evidence—such as money and weapons—during operations, among other crimes.

Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar instructed the State Attorney General’s Office to address the allegations seriously and apply the law transparently.

“I have asked Prosecutor Jorge Luis Llaven Abarca to guarantee the rights of the complainant so that he can face a legal, honest, and transparent investigation without any bias,” the Morena leader stated in a video.

He assured that despite the accusations against the elite police group, the Pakal Force, created by his administration to combat organized crime, the security strategy will continue. Ramírez Aguilar believes the anti-crime program in the state, which has been plagued in recent years by the dispute between the Sinaloa and Jalisco Nueva Generación cartels, has affected economic interests.
