In an interview with the media, Senator Luis Armando Melgar acknowledged the deployment of the Vacation Security Operation, implemented by Governor Eduardo Ramírez, which aims to guarantee peace and well-being for all families visiting the state during this holiday season.
“The security strategy for these vacations is a great success; it not only protects our visitors but also activates a value chain that boosts the regional economy. When there is peace, tourism increases, and with it, opportunities for thousands of Chiapas families,” Melgar said.
The operation, which coordinates efforts between the Security Cabinet, Civil Protection, and the Armed Forces, covers 51 municipalities with tourism potential, 26 high-traffic highway sections, and 273 tourist sites, including archaeological sites, historical monuments, spas, beaches, museums, rivers, and ecotourism centers.
Chiapas, renowned for its natural beauty, cultural richness, and human warmth, is consolidating its position as a safe, reliable, and hospitable destination for national and international tourism.
“In Chiapas’ New Era, security goes hand in hand with development. Today, our state is not only a tourist paradise, it is also an example of how growth can be achieved with peace, organization, and vision,” Melgar added.
The legislator emphasized that tourism is a strategic lever for development, as it creates jobs, strengthens identity, preserves cultural heritage, and stimulates local economies, particularly in rural and indigenous communities.
“We are seeing real results. Chiapas has what it takes to be a world-class tourist destination. With peace and security, we are building a land of opportunity for all,” Melgar concluded.
