Several neighborhoods and subdivisions in the northern part of San Cristóbal de Las Casas will be without water service to their homes due to maintenance work being carried out by the authorities on the “Convivencia Infantil” deep well.
The Municipal Drinking Water System (Sapam) informed users of the temporary suspension of the service through a statement.
Due to maintenance work on the well, which supplies several neighborhoods and subdivisions in the area, “the suspension will begin Tuesday, October 21st, with service expected to be restored on Saturday, October 25th, 2025.”
The affected neighborhoods are: Explanada Huitepec, Huitepec, Alcanfores, San Vicente (retirees and pensioners), Panorama Huitepec, Insurgentes, Rosas Blancas, Avenida Laguna Esmeralda, Tienda Walmart, and Tomás Moro Private Street.
Given this situation, SAPAM recommends that citizens take the necessary precautions, store water in advance, and use it wisely during the suspension period.
Finally, the water agency thanks the public for their understanding and also announces that the maintenance they will perform is intended to provide better service.
