The Sixth Commission of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) convened the Seedbed “of pyramids, of history, of love, and, of course, heartbreak.”
In a statement signed by Subcomandante Moisés, it explained that the participants would be Sylvia Marcos, Bárbara Zamora, Tamara San Miguel, Luis de Tavira, Raúl Zibechi, Arturo Anguiano, Carlos Antonio Aguirre Rojas, Eduardo Almeida, Carlos Tornel, and Raúl Romero.
It stated that they “will present their analyses on pyramids and the manipulation of history within the economic system, corrupt governments, laws and the judicial structure, resistance movements, the left and progressivism, human rights, the feminist struggle, and the arts.”
He added that “perhaps something will be said about love and heartbreak, depending. In any case, it is hoped that those presenting will not overwhelm the audience with too many bibliographic citations, tedious elaborations, or Wikipedia summaries.”
He added: “The Zapatista Sixth Commission invites the signatories of the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle and the Declaration for Life to participate in the workshop to celebrate the resistances and rebellions of the world: Of Pyramids, Of Histories, Of Love, and, of course, Heartbreak.”
Moisés explained that the activities will take place from December 26 to 30 at Cideci-Unitierra, located in San Cristóbal.
The statement was released this Monday, November 17, the 42nd anniversary of the founding of the EZLN.
