The historic center of the colonial city was affected by a power outage due to the installation of the ice rink, one of the most anticipated Christmas events.
The tourism sector operating in the city’s central area was notified of the outage from midnight on Wednesday, December 3rd, until 2:00 a.m.
The Public Lighting Department reported that the El Carmen area, the historic center, and the Santo Domingo area would be affected by the work being done to install the ice rink, and asked for the public’s understanding.
This ice rink is applauded by skating enthusiasts but not by art and culture connoisseurs, as it occupies valuable historical buildings in the city.
The first ice rinks were installed in Plaza Catedral, and in recent years at the City Museum, as is the case this time, where work is already underway for its installation.
