The Chiapas Tourism Secretariat announced a new route by Mexicana de Aviación connecting Ángel Albino Corzo International Airport with Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). The main objective is to boost the state’s economic development and generate jobs.
The new route will begin operating this Monday, July 6, with five flights per week starting at 949 pesos. However, those wishing to travel are advised to check availability and fares through Mexicana’s official social media accounts.
Flight Prices to Chiapas
The base fare for flights on the direct route between Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, and AIFA is 949 pesos.
Images shared on social media show that the inaugural flight departed from Ángel Albino Corzo International Airport with 65 passengers, representing 60% of the available seats.
The state airline’s official website is already advertising this tourist destination, so those interested in using this route are advised to check flight availability and costs.
The Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion for the Chiapas Ministry of Tourism, Javier Domínguez Andrade, announced at a press conference that Mexicana de Aviación’s new route will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays; there will be no service on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
“Starting today, there will be five weekly flights… We hope to have seven days a week service soon,” he said.
The state official anticipates that flights on this new route will increase not only in occupancy but also in weekly frequency.
