San Cristóbal de Las Casas.- Nine people from two families were expelled from the Community of Mitzitón, municipality of San Cristóbal last Sunday, after not sharing the same religious beliefs and refused to cooperate and support actions with Catholic religious, the family´s houses were destroyed.
Esdras Alonso González, leader of the Wings of Eagle Exercise of God congregation, announced that the expelled people told him that they justified that after an assembly in the ejido determined to affect two families with a total of nine people, facts that resulted in the late-night last Sunday.
The evangelical leader said that an hour before Alejandro Jiménez Jiménez and Miguel Jiménez Heredia were deprived of their liberty, for which he regretted that these violent acts are returning due to conflicts of creeds.
Alonso González called on the government to take action on the matter to put an end to this long-standing problem.
“A few days ago, less than a month on December 15, 2020, a group of five families of evangelicals from the same municipality of San Cristóbal de Las Casas in the Napité community also returned, they made them sign that they should not build a temple in that place; a week after the return, three of the five families had to leave, “he quoted.
Alonso González called on the government to take action on the matter to put an end to this age-old problem that had been controlled for several years and reappears after the disappearance of instances that mediated these issues.
