Tragedy in the San Cristóbal-Teopisca section leaves 3 dead and one person injured

Thousands of pesos in property damage, several dead and injured persons, is the balance of a serious car accident registered this Friday morning on the San Cristóbal-Teopisca federal highway section, for which different security and emergency forces were mobilized and rushed to the scene to care for the injured.

So far there is talk of three deaths and one wounded, caused in the San Cristóbal-Teopisca by the community of El Aguaje and Rancho Nuevo, about 11 km from the city of San Cristóbal de las Casas, the motorists who circulating at that time were the first to help the injured, while the emergency bodies arrived.

The driver of a white Aveo brand vehicle allegedly lost control of the unit and hit the retaining wall, instantly killing 3 people’s lives and 1 more seriously injured.

Different security forces, firefighters and Civil Protection paramedics came to the place to provide first aid to the injured woman and then urgently transferred her to the Hospital de las Culturas in San Cristóbal de Las Casas.

While the bodies of the three deceased were originals from the municipality of Oxchuc, they were taken to this municipality by their relatives to give them a Christian burial, since they are governed by uses and customs and do not allow legal autopsy to be performed on them.
