President Andrés Manuel López Obrador published a New Year’s message in a video from Palenque, Chiapas, where he wished that “all” Mexicans would do “well” in 2024, and asked to see things with optimism, as he predicted that “the future is going to be ours, we deserve it.”
“From this mystical, sacred site, this political, ancient metropolis, with so much culture, so much knowledge, I send to all Mexicans my wish for happiness, that is what I most hope that everything goes well for all of us in this year 2024,” said the president.
In the video, published on his social networks, López Obrador was located in the Temple of the Inscriptions, in Palenque, where he spent the night of December 31 to receive 2024 after the inauguration of the second section of the Mayan Train, one of the works most emblematic of his administration.
