Sancristobalense MiPymes denounce “floor charge”. Authorities do not provide security

The insecurity that has hit San Cristóbal de Las Casas, has the local economy in crisis due to the low number of tourists. Small businesses, even in the main walkways, have had to close their doors due to low sales.

Establishments have had to pay floor rights, and many have gone bankrupt while those who still resist, ask the municipal authorities to provide guarantees to work.

They disapprove the performance of Mayor Mariano Díaz Ochoa, who was overwhelmed by organized crime. Fewer tourists visit San Cristóbal and this causes a stagnant economy.
