A sculpture for which Morena mayor Fabiola Ricci paid almost 500,000 pesos to her sister Blanca Ricci has been the subject of mockery and memes since it was installed at the site of the former figure of Los Cantaritos in the Monte de los Olivos neighborhood, which was demolished in 2024.
The weekly magazine Mirada Sur published invoices for the payment of more than 478,000 pesos that Fabiola made to her sister Blanca to create the sculpture of a reclining woman’s head, known as “Sueño de primavera” (Dream of Spring).
Blanca Ricci, who is also the director of the San Cristóbal Museum (Musac), received 478,211.96 pesos for creating the sculpture that was installed at the site of the former figure of Los Cantaritos, as the residents knew them.

But a few hours after the sculpture was placed at that location, city residents expressed their anger with criticism and memes on social media. Someone called the work “La desnucada” (The Neckless Woman), but another said it was the face of Mayor Jerónima Toledo, also from Morena, who governed from 2018 to 2021. Another said it was a sculpture in honor of Wendy Guevara.
Among the best memes, one netizen said Blanca Ricci’s work was that of Ozzy Osbourne, who died on Tuesday.
So far, Mayor Fabiola Ricci has not announced which woman the sculpture was honored in honor of.
