The Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, announced that the construction process of the Rizo de Oro Bridge between the municipalities of La Concordia and Chicomuselo is 82 percent complete.

“Major changes were made to the cables, which led to the decision to redesign and reinforce the mounting system. The system is already tested, and very soon we will be installing it using the trolley. We began assemblies underneath the structure, but this is a very slow process and would not allow us to assemble the central section.”

We had to modify the lifting system, and this has led us to reschedule. The project is 82 percent complete. This project is part of the National Infrastructure Plan and is included in the country’s joint investment program, which amounts to 14 billion pesos.

During President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s press conference, she explained that changes have been made to the installation process. This is a 405-meter-long metal arch bridge with a 1.7-kilometer access road that will improve communication between the Sierra, Frontera, and Frailesca regions.

Work is underway on the foundation, steel structure, and drainage works. This is the second bridge in the region, along with the La Concordia bridge, which has already been put into service over the “Dr. Belisario Domínguez” hydroelectric dam, also known as La Angostura, in the municipality of La Concordia.

The Rizo de Oro Bridge will improve connectivity between the regions, benefiting residents of Motozintla, Siltepec, Amatenango de la Frontera, Frontera Comalapa, Chicomuselo, La Concordia, Villa Corzo, Parral, Chiapa de Corzo, and Tuxtla Gutiérrez, among others.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation is working on the construction of the Rizo de Oro Bridge, which is 80 percent complete. The bridge will transform the lives of approximately 300,000 residents in 10 municipalities and connect 21 communities.

The agency indicates that this project is part of the National Infrastructure Plan and will bring education, healthcare, and greater economic opportunities to the state, allowing for greater safety, speed, and better opportunities for residents.
