Authorities carry out an operation in San Cristóbal de las Casas to close irregular works and protect wetlands and mountains / Profepa authorities.
Authorities from the three levels of government continue in San Cristóbal de las Casas, supervising irregular works in the wetlands and mountains protected by the federal government, proceeding again to close constructions without the corresponding permits.
The director of Municipal Ecology, biologist Jade Biniza Cantú Luna, reported that a joint operation was carried out to verify and stop activities that could cause ecocide in the Mountain Wetlands Protected Natural Area.

During these actions, the Directorate of Ecology, the Directorate of Urban Development, PROFEPA , and the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) participated, as part of the inter-institutional coordination for environmental protection. The team continues to tour protected areas to ensure compliance.
Finally, the official stressed that these measures seek to safeguard the ecosystems of the Jovel Valley, enforce current environmental legislation, and guarantee the conservation of protected natural areas, for the benefit of the population and the natural environment.
