The mayor of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Fabiola Ricci Diestel, received the declaration recognizing the municipality as a Rotary City of the World from Francesco Arezzo, president of Rotary International, in Oaxaca City. This historic event highlights more than five decades of Rotary work in the region.
This recognition was granted during the international leader’s visit to Oaxaca de Juárez by District 4195, emphasizing the invaluable history of the local Rotary clubs, which for more than 52 years have worked together with the community under the premise of being “United to Do Good.”
The mayor thanked the presidents of the Rotary clubs for their participation in this important event, underscoring that this achievement strengthens institutional collaboration and recognizes the value of organized citizen participation in favor of the development, peace, and well-being of San Cristóbal de Las Casas.
