For this year 2023, the “Passion of Christ” will take place, which for more than 50 years has been taking place in the Los Mexicanos neighborhood, the only one that preserves this important event, and which is located in the north-west area of San Cristóbal de las Casas, although those who will participate in the procession that takes place through the streets of the city still need to register.
Up to now there is no complete record of who will participate, and they will have to walk 30 streets of San Cristóbal de las Casas starting at 10 in the morning from the plazuela of the Los Mexicanos neighborhood and around 3 in the afternoon they will return to the same place where the crucifixion of Jesus takes place.
